Who: PALS member library staff and PALS staff who
share an interest in advocating for/marketing PALS libraries and their services
Why: to increase
public awareness of PALS member libraries and their benefit to their community
Member Benefits:
- networking / mentoring / sounding board with
other library marketing practitioners
- sharing best marketing practices
and ideas for resources, tips and tricks
- recognizing you are not
alone in your library marketing efforts! Together we can be a louder voice
advocating for libraries.
What Does the Team Do?
- develops the PALS annual marketing plan based on shared member/system marketing
goals
- identifies shared marketing strategies appropriate for all PALS libraries
- identifies ways that PALS member libraries can implement agreed upon marketing
strategies
- ensures consistency in collaborative marketing materials to send a unified
message PALS-wide
- identifies other community opportunities that can "tie in" with
the PALS annual marketing plan
- compiles results of shared marketing strategies into an annual report
Team Member Responsibilities:
- keep your library informed of PALS shared marketing activities and information
- attend PALS Marketing Team meetings and participate in development and
implementation of shared marketing strategies
- assist with distribution of shared marketing information in your community,
when appropriate
When and Where Does the Team Meet?
The team meets at least quarterly, or as needed, to complete
our projects. We vary our meeting method (in-person, videoconference, OPAL)
depending on the meeting agenda. Subscribe to the MarketingTeam
